Starting memcached

This section describes how to start memcached.

To Start memcached

Before You Begin

Make sure that the libevent library (SUNWlibevent) is installed.

1. Log in as non-root user.

   ---

   Note - You cannot execute memecached as a root user.

   ---

2. At the command prompt, type the following command:

   #memcached --options

   For information about the memcached command, and its options, see the memcached man page.

   memcached package for Solaris (SUNWmemcached) includes files necessary to register with the Service Management Facility (SMF) for the Java^TM platform. For more information, see memcached.1m man page.
