Keeping Your System Up-To-Date

After you have installed the OpenSolaris operating system , you can add, remove, and update packages on your system. You can update individual packages, or you can update all of those packages in an image that have updates available. You can use both the Image Packaging System (IPS) GUI tools (Package Manager and Update Manager) and the IPS CLI to upgrade an entire system to a new OpenSolaris release.
