than GPL or LGPL is available it will apply instead, Sun elects to
use only the General Public License version 2 (GPLv2) at this time
for any software where a choice of GPL license versions is made
available with the language indicating that GPLv2 or any later
version may be used, or where a choice of which version of the GPL
is applied is otherwise unspecified.
Installation Instructions
  • You should be running at least build 91 of Solaris Nevada.
  • Download some or all of the tarballs for your platform.
  • Create a new directory and extract all downloaded tarballs in the newly created directory using tar -xvf <FILENAME>
  • su to root
  • Disable the postrun service: # svcadm disable svc:/system/postrun:default
  • Disable the dbus service: # svcadm disable svc:/system/dbus:default
  • Disable the hal service: # svcadm disable svc:/system/hal:default
  • Disable the avahi service: # svcadm disable svc:/system/avahi-bridge-dsd:default
  • cd into the directory where you extracted the tarballs and run ./install-jds --force --ignore.
  • Enable the postrun service: # svcadm enable svc:/system/postrun:default
  • Enable the dbus service: # svcadm enable svc:/system/dbus:default
  • Enable the hal service: # svcadm enable svc:/system/hal:default
